Beauty Review : Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

I have to admit, when I first heard about beauty products containing Snail Mucin (Snail slime to you and me) I was one, grossed out and two, deeply upset about the cruelty side of it. But after doing some research I found out that no snails are harmed in the process, they are kept on wire mesh and the mucin is collect underneath, so the snails don’t even know!

So why is snail mucin so sought after now, especially in Korean skincare, who we know are top of the field in producing high delivery skincare products.

Snail mucin is said do do everything, from fading scars and hyper-pigmentation, plumping skin and making it more younger looking, and combating acne and acne scarring.

It also moisturises the skin and helps repair the skins barrier to help block out environment irritants whilst containing the skins moisture levels.

So basically an all round amazing product ingredient!

I tried out the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence to see if these products really do work.

First of all the product design is simple and classic, I loved the packaging it came in, it just looks fabulous on the bathroom worktop ready to use both morning and night. And convenient with a simple pump action. No mess!

You use it after cleansing and toning and before moisturiser.

The texture is not at all slimy or sticky like I thought it would be, it doesn’t smell and it’s absorbed straight away. you pat it on all over your face, you only need one pump so it’s lasting a long time.

I’ve been using it for just over two months now and I noticed an improvement within the first few days!

My skin became more plumper, less dry and crepe and more even coloured. Not a massive huge amount but enough to make my face look healthier and more alive.

I also noticed that my pores started to shrink and look less obvious,  they are still there but just not as noticeable. Which is fabulous, as I’ve been plagued by large pores across my nose area especially.

I suffer from hyper pigmentation, mainly around my chin and cheeks, it’s a little darker colour than the rest of my face and has made me miserable for some time. I have notice that it’s starting to fade, hopefully this will fade even more the longer I use it!

Overall I have loved this product, the texture, lack of smell, my skin improvement. Plus the fact that the bottle is lasting along time means that when this bottle does eventually run out, I’ll be definitely be ordering some more. This has become a staple in my skincare routine and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to improve their skin appearance and texture.

Pop along to and find out more about this fab product. Plus their other amazing cult classics, such as the PH Morning Cleaner, another favourite of mine!
