Female Entrepreneur Q & A
What made you decide to start your business and become a female entrepreneur?
In truth, I’ve always written in addition to my corporate job. I did magazine writing and started taking clients and doing editing on the side. When I got laid off from my corporate job, I decided it was about time I did something I was passionate about.
What was the process of turning your idea into reality?
I put up a web site and started telling everyone I knew. I had past clients are they were happy to be able to work with me again.
What ways have you marketed your business and which has worked the best for you?
I love teaching/mentoring. I do in-person and online Webinars. These are fun and give people a taste of what it’s like to work with me. I like to co-teach with other writers or spiritual entrepreneurs since there’s a spiritual approach to what I do. I teach people to meditate when they write. It helps them get out of their head, puts their personality aside and really let’s the writing flow. Being free of judgment when you’re writing is really important and this helps.
What’s the one thing you wished you knew at the beginning of your journey?
How happy and fulfilled I’d be doing this work. I love being my best self and helping others be theirs. It’s empowering and inspiring.
What’s your daily workday like?
It’s different every day and that’s what I like about it. I am writing every day for sure. Some days I’m meeting with people. Some days I’m editing a client’s work. I always have calls with my clients go over revisions and take about the direction a book should take. I’m always leading them toward finding their authentic voice and that’s exciting for me, and, I think, empowering for them.
Have you got a favourite quote or mantra that keeps you going?
Here are a couple I like:
“Get yourself still and quiet and listen and that makes all the difference in your journey.” – Corinne L. Casazza
“Writing is an exercise in vulnerability.” – Corinne L. Casazza
If you could offer one piece of advice to the ladies out there thinking of starting or just starting their entrepreneurial journey what would it be?
Just do it! You can really make a difference doing something you’re passionate about. You’ll be happier, more confident and you’ll change people’s lives. Also, think about the freedom you’ll have to create your own schedule and come and go as you please! You can work online from anywhere – like the beach!
If you’re just starting out, have patience with yourself. Be gentle. You’ll need to learn new skills and do things you’ve never done before. It can be unsettling at times, but keep at it. Once you work through it, it’s always worth it!
If you could have the help of anyone who would it be?
I am a big believer in working with a coach and a peer community. A coach is an expert and knows things you don’t. They help you learn and achieve new things and tweak something until it works. Coaches also are good at reminding you to celebrate your wins.
What’s the ultimate goal for yourself and your business?
I’ve always known books are transformational and healing. Books and writing have changed my life. I work with entrepreneurs and mainly spiritual entrepreneurs: mediums, psychics, energy healers and numerologists, for example. I love learning about spirituality. I know these practitioners are changing people’s lives and by serving them, I help them empower more people and change more lives. Those ripples continue to go out and I love knowing that together we’re making such a difference.
Being an online magazine now means the magazine can cover more gorgeous features and have no limit on area or country.
